GENERAL LABOR/MAINTENANCE (FULL-TIME)

 

  • We are hiring immediately for a full-time GENERAL LABOR/MAINTENANCE position. 
  • Location: Georgetown University. 3700 O St NW, Washington, DC 20057. Note: online applications accepted only.
    • This position will provide maintenance services for the main campus in Georgetown.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. 
  • Additional Job Duties: 
    • Troubleshoots and repairs commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
    • Inspects the commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment and their related components to ensure safe operation.
  • Requirement: Prior kitchen equipment or general repair experience required. 
  • Pay Range: $25.00 per hour to $28.00 per hour

Job Summary

Summary: Assists with the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance and smooth operation of the building and campus. Assist in repairs, maintains and assists in the installation of commercial kitchen equipment, including but not limited to stoves, grills, ovens, ice makers, coolers and dish machines within the university campus properties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
  • Performs minor repairs to doors, fixtures and furniture.
  • Records information from meters and gauges at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
  • Makes adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Regularly replaces HVAC air filters.
  • Moves heavy furniture, equipment and supplies either manually or by using hand trucks.
  • Notifies managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Ad-hoc cleaning of building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming. 
  • Drives vehicles required to perform work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:  

  • Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license may be required.
