SYSTEMS DIRECTOR, PATIENT TRANSPORT, OBSERVATION AND VALET - HOSPITALS

Job Summary

As Systems Director of Patient Transportation & Observation, you will be responsible for the operations and support of Patient Transport and Observation Services to include patient safety attendants, patient transportation within the hospital, and valet. This includes the successful management of associates, finances, client relations, patient and customer satisfaction, program quality standards, performance improvement, personnel performance and productivity for multiple locations within the Wichita/KS market.  You will also be responsible for the overall planning, organizing, directing and controlling of Patient Transport and Observation activities within the region.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial data and statistics
  • Develops and recommends department operating budget
  • Coordinates observation activities and services with other hospital departments
  • Maintains records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purpose
  • Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and supervises functions and activities of the department
  • Establishes work standards and work flow
  • Establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations
  • Demonstrates good communication skills with clients
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives
     

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of director or management experience preferably in hospital patient transport and/or observation
  • Bachelors degree in healthcare, hospitality, or related field of study or equivalent relevant management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to plan, organize, and achieve effective time management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
  • Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience 
  • Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills
  • Ability and experience in managing budgets 
  • Strong leadership, management, coaching, and development skills
  • Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels
  • Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet
