ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES MANAGER, HEALTHCARE
Reports To: Asst Director, Environmental Services
Schedule: Full time; 2nd shift primarily Monday through Friday, 3pm-11:30p. Must be able to work rotating weekends.

Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage second and third shift Environmental Services operations across patient care areas, public spaces, offices, and support departments.
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate EVS associates and EVS Leads.
- Develop staffing plans, work schedules, assignments, productivity standards, and departmental workflows.
- Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, operating rooms, isolation rooms, emergency department spaces, and other clinical areas.
- Conduct routine inspections and quality audits to evaluate cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and service levels.
- Manage departmental budgets, monitor expenditures, and track operational metrics.
- Coordinate housekeeping activities with hospital departments and serve as a liaison between administration and operational teams.
- Manage EVS supplies, chemicals, equipment, and inventory.
- Provide ongoing associate education on infection prevention, chemical safety, bloodborne pathogens, PPE, equipment operation, and hospital cleaning standards.
- Establish and implement departmental policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, infection prevention, and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in leadership meetings, accreditation surveys, regulatory inspections, and hospital quality initiatives.
- Maintain adequate 24/7 departmental coverage, including weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, innovation, and service excellence.
- Support facility goals through continuous improvement and Total Quality Management initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Environmental Services, housekeeping, facilities management, or related healthcare support leadership experience.
- Two or more years of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience leading EVS operations within a hospital, healthcare, or clinical environment preferred.
- Knowledge of infection prevention practices, terminal cleaning, isolation protocols, and healthcare sanitation standards.
- Experience managing labor, staffing plans, productivity standards, departmental budgets, and supply inventories.
- Strong customer service focus with the ability to build relationships across multiple departments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead through a participative management style while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
- Ability to prioritize and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure healthcare environment.
- Understanding of budgeting processes and profit-and-loss concepts.
- CRCST or other applicable healthcare certification preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
