Job Summary
As a Finance Manager with Restaurant Associates, you will serve as a trusted business partner to our operators, providing financial leadership, analysis, and support to drive operational excellence and client satisfaction. This role is responsible for supporting the monthly close process, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with Compass Group financial policies and internal controls. The Finance Manager will partner closely with unit leadership to improve profitability, streamline processes, and deliver best-in-class financial support across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement review.
- Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, insight, and clarity for Operations and Regional Leadership.
- Partner with operators to develop annual budgets, labor plans, and rolling forecasts aligned with client expectations and RA financial standards.
- Monitor key performance metrics, including food, labor, and controllable costs, and help operators identify and execute corrective actions.
- Support contract compliance, internal controls, client reporting requirements, and audit processes in accordance with Compass Group policies.
- Conduct profitability modeling, pricing analysis, margin improvement reviews, and support new business transitions or openings as needed.
- Serve as a financial resource to operators, providing training, coaching, and tools to strengthen financial acumen across the field.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, reporting, and operational visibility through collaboration and data-driven recommendations.
- Build strong relationships with culinary, operations, regional finance, and corporate teams, demonstrating a partnership-first mindset.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting and financial management experience, ideally within Foodservice, Hospitality, or Hotel industries.
- Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Strong technical accounting foundation with deep knowledge of GAAP and financial principles.
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and build strong business relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a “change agent,” driving process improvements and enhancing unit profitability.
- Exceptional communication skills — able to present financial information clearly, effectively, and with confidence.
- Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
- Strong Excel and financial systems proficiency; SAP and Compass Group systems experience preferred.
